Most of the students have finished writing their procedures. Everyone did such a GREAT job on them! You should all be very proud! Here are just a few:

Niagara Falls

The grade 8's had a wonderful time in Niagara Falls! The day was gloomy and cool, but that didn't stop us from having fun. We did SO much yesterday.

Grade 8 Graduation Trip

Please remember that on Monday, June 4, the grade 8 students will be going to Niagara Falls for the day.
The students need to be at the school no later than 5:45 AM. The bus will leave promptly at 6:00 AM.

Things to Bring:
Bagged lunch OR money to buy lunch
Sweater or jacket
Camera (don't loose it)
Things to do on the bus

On the way home when we are close to Windsor, I will have the students call parents. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO WALK HOME. A PARENT NEEDS TO COME AND PICK THEM UP.

Writing Introductions

We are practicing how to write good introductions for our persuasive essays.

Landforms Project

Students are working hard on their landform projects. After they are finished researching 3 landforms they will create 1 landform from a material of their choice.

Persuasive Writing

We have been learning about persuasive writing and together, we wrote a letter to Mr. Callow about improvements to the playground.

Landform Project

The students will choose 3 types of landforms and research them.
What is it?
Where can they be found?
How are they made?
They will then be asked to create one landform and present it to the class.

We started a new unit in geography on landforms. For the next few weeks we will be talking about mountains, plains, valleys, canyons, plateaus and volcanoes.
Our learning goal is:
I can identify and describe the physical landforms of our Earth.

Completed Medieval Times Posters

The class completed their medieval times posters and presented them to the class today. They had to explain the significance of each picture they had. Everyone did a great job!

Persuasive Writing

We have started a new unit on persuasive texts. Our learning goal for this unit is, "I can write a persuasive text." We looked at several persuasive texts today and the students identified commonalities between each essay. They then constructed success criteria for writing a persuasive text. Take a look!
